After a 35-year career in the Royal Australian Air Force, 30 of them in leadership positions, Guy is passionate about the romance and adventure of aviation and the transformative power of leadership. He is excited to be giving back in both fields as they have given him so much. He manages his leadership and life coaching and aviation consultancy while also working part-time for the RAAF in project management and senior leader mentoring roles. Guy is happily married to Jenny, has two wonderful daughters and outside work keeps fit at the gym and tries to enjoy golf despite failing miserably to master it!

Guy Wilson landed his dream job when he was accepted into the Royal Australian Air Force as a pilot when he was a 20-year old. He spent the next 20 years flying many different types of aircraft all over Australia and the world. During those years, he progressed into leadership roles, which he found provided immense satisfaction. So, when he was promoted beyond the ranks that pilots normally fly, he was happy to accept the challenge to lead others. Fortunately, the Air Force provided many excellent opportunities to lead teams delivering results for the Australian people using multi-billion-dollar state of the art equipment.

 

From leading a small team of ten people to ultimately leading thousands, Guy has experienced all the highs and lows of the privilege of leadership. He realised that the performance of his team was less about how good he was at his specialist job and much more about how well he could inspire, motivate and influence others to elevate their performance to new heights. Leadership can deliver both exceptional and terrible results and frankly, it is not easy. Guy hopes to help others confidently lead their teams to exceed both the competition and their own expectations.
